Faithfully Yours: In Loving Memory of My Darling Wife Shashi

Mr Ravi Kant Dass was born on 4 December 1945 in Agra, India. He received his schooling at Mount Hermon School in Darjeeling, India.

During the late 1940s, Ravi moved with his parents and his two younger sisters to London, United Kingdom, where the family began a new chapter of their lives. As a young man, he pursued studies in accounting and went on to build a career as an accountant. He worked for Paddington Churches Housing Association in London and, alongside his professional career, also assisted his father with the family’s housing business.

In 1971, Ravi married his wife in Ajmer, Rajasthan, India. They subsequently made their home in London, where they raised their two children. Their son, Anoop Dass, was born on 13 March 1974, followed by their daughter, Ragini Harjani, on 25 November 1978.

In 1981, Ravi and his family moved back to India. During this period, he became involved in an export business with his father, who was in the United Kingdom.

In 1999, Ravi, his wife and their two children returned to London. Ravi resumed his professional career and worked as an accountant for a London-based firm before eventually taking early retirement due to health reasons.

Around 2010, Ravi began to feel a strong inspiration to write a book that would eventually become Faithfully Yours. This period coincided with a particularly challenging time for the family, marked by both financial difficulties and personal concerns. Against this backdrop, Ravi found himself searching for deeper answers to some of life’s most profound questions. His thoughts, reflections and experiences gradually began to take shape through his writing.

Although he had a clear vision for the book, Ravi initially struggled with writer’s block and was unable to complete the manuscript. The death of his beloved wife in May 2011 became a profound turning point in his life. Through his grief, he found renewed motivation and inspiration to complete Faithfully Yours, dedicating the finished work to her memory.

The book was subsequently published in India by Cinnamon Publishing and later in the United Kingdom by AuthorHouse, allowing Ravi’s reflections and message to reach a wider audience.

Sadly, Mr Ravi Kant Dass passed away on 11 April 2015 following a cardiac arrest. He was 69 years old.

His literary legacy, however, has continued through his son, Anoop Dass, who has worked to preserve and bring his father’s writing to new generations of readers. Faithfully Yours has since been republished twice—first through Booktrail Publishing and, more recently, through Prime 7 Media.

Through his life, his family and his writing, Ravi Kant Dass left behind a deeply personal legacy. Faithfully Yours, born from a period of searching, hardship, faith, love and loss, remains an enduring testament to his reflections on life and to the memory of the wife to whom he ultimately dedicated his work.
